Melina Meneguin Layerenza is Senior Counsel to the Attorney General. Before joining the Office of the Attorney General, she was an associate with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she litigated a broad range of complex civil and criminal matters in federal and state courts both at the trial court and appellate levels, including disputes relating to securities fraud, antitrust, bankruptcy and restructuring, federal jurisdiction and procedure, and constitutional law. She also maintained an active pro bono practice focusing on voting and reproductive rights. Meneguin earned her law degree from the New York University School of Law, where she served as Senior Executive Editor of the New York University Law Review. Meneguin  earned a Master’s Degree in International Security from Institut D’Etudes Politiques De Paris (Sciences Po Paris) and an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University.
