EDISON, NJ-State Police
detectives assigned to the Document Fraud
Squad arrested two men at the Motor Vehicle
Commission office on Kilmer Street as
they attempted to obtain fictitious Identification
Card for one of them.
Mohade Aftab Khan, 29,
of Fiat Avenue in Iselin, for which the
ID card was intended, was arrested without
incident and charged with Forgery, Tampering
with Public Records and Conspiracy, and
lodged in the Middlesex County Jail in
lieu of $100,000.00 bail. Khan was also
determined to be in the country illegally,
and a detainer was filed by the Bureau
of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Muhammed Ivrizwan, 42,
of Main Street in Metuchen was also arrested
without incident and charged with the
same offenses. He was lodged in the Middlesex
County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
“This is the type
of illegal activity that our detectives
investigate and root out on a daily basis,”
said State Police Superintendent Colonel
Joseph R. Fuentes. “Document fraud
is often the gateway to other criminal
enterprises, and enforcement at this level
can have an impact on Homeland Security
issues.”
This investigation is
ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming.
